jaf… A suggestion. Find another set of stock Mono's and cut them off just behind the spring pad and cut them off at the spring eye. Take your springs and remove centre pins, take it all to a spring shop and get them to put new centre pins and clamps at the front to the rear and below of the front spring eyes. Reinstall and shim lower spring pad (the thickness of the added "half spring") with bushings, flat bar or washers. Low cost method and your ride height won't be effected, you will be surprised how well it works, call them "jaf-tracs". MB

Alot of guys run this suspension and are very happy with the way it works. I have a cpl friends that have switched from the old multi leaf with the slapper bars to this suspension. The current setup on my 69 Camaro G/SA 350 255hp is the same stuff that I ran in 1972 when I ran the 302 and speed. I'm still running the original multi leaf with the Lakewood Traction Action bars and they definitely work for us. Check out page 10 National Dragster for March 2022. I'm not a very good follower because everyone else is doing it. I've had many guys look at our rear suspension and just shake their heads,,it works for us and we ain't changing. That makes our setup that more impressive.

What I liked about the Calvert springs is the weight savings over the 02 , 03 springs with a custom main leaf for a 22” front segment. We use the Cal-trac bars.
Changing rear ride height is a simple task of re-arching the rear segment. Good luck. |
