Hey John- I remember your dragster crash, we were there. Can't remember the race, or were you testing?
I remember Scott Kalitta's fatal crash there. Blew the body off right in front of us. Worked our way down to the top end and was hard to see the layout down there. Except the sand trap, net and Lull/camera boom extended horizontally over the trap. The news was bad. The following week at the Ford event, I took a walk down there to check it out. Nothing had changed and it was apparent it was unsafe (for high speed cars). I won't get too deep but a certain item was eventually removed and the 'Jersey Barriers' were straightened out. Scott might have survived the corrected layout, maybe not. It was a brutal incident. RIP SK! Be safe all...BG
