And on top of everything else, bitch about someone covering sportsman racing but don't have the guts to post your name.

My son and I are both currently racing Stock and SS (Both down to last 4 @ Pomona 2022) at this point in time. What Mr. Official is your name and when is the last time you raced a stock or SS car? Are you currently a NHRA employee and are you in fact speaking in you capacity with the NHRA organization?

I really do not care who this person is. He/She has an opinion and that they are entitled to express.
NHRA is not the National Football League. The value if their media property is arguably no where near other Major Sports venues IMO. NHRA's business model from the entertainment standpoint is clearly the Pro Classes. I do think that they need to differentiate the Pro from the Sportsman classes regarding the blanket media policy that was previously posted. I actually think that it would be in their best interest to engage and allow those "other" outlets to cover what they are not. I think the partnership with approved classy outlets would actually enhance the big picture or what is NHRA. Giving those partners access to the Sportsman classes would expand the viewership and possibly interest in NHRA. Just my personal thoughts. Robin

I didn't mean you guys, I meant Mr official22years. I'm still not even sure what he is getting at but I wouldn't complain unless I was willing to use my name. Jim Caughlin SS6019 (and I have been racing in SS since '86) |

Years ago, there was a sports radio talk show in New York. It was called "Mike and the Mad Dog". Huge drivetime audience, largest in the country. It featured ALL of the top sports personalities doing spot appearances. On Sunday morning, Mike would host a football show called "NFL Now". It went on for years. One day, the National Football League said you can`t call it NFL anymore. As I recall, they wouldn`t allow it under any conditions. NHRA`s lawyers might see some potential in sportsman race cars. Who knew?

I have no problem with people making money however they can, it's easy to see you aren't self employed or never have been.

Maybe someone from NHRA should revisit the 501(c) (6) of IRS Code of 1986
Mission Statement I may not have it verbatim but you’ll get the idea. “Promote and advance the common business interest of those engaged in the sport of drag racing and the hot rod industry; to promote safety, sportsmanship and fellowship and exchange of knowledge and information among hot rod enthusiasts...........” |

Well that means this page and any facebook group that uses the NHRA name would be gone, Nostalgia pictures, current ones, basically someone is pissed that they post NHRA updates on their page which I have no problem with if I'm not at the event because you sure as hell dont get much sportsman stuff from NHRA on a race weekend. |
