I cant say if NHRA accepts the T-Bolts but when I reistated the 7.00 lb to 7.99 lb AA/S classes in IHRA several years ago (maybe around 10 years ?) in IHRA they were installed just for cars such as the T-Bolt, ZL-1 Camaro's, X-Ram 64-65 Hemis, and L-88 and 435 HP and 425 HP Corvettes (before HP adjustments), 69 X-ram AMX cars,66-67 dual quad Ford Fairlanes, and a few others. It was for mostly cars that would normally run SS/C (if prepared for S/S) but to give the racers another option to builld and play with such rare cars with out cutting them up or build a clone. It turned out that there was a total LACK of interest except for one or two racers. There was ONE T-Bolt clone being built out of Texas (never saw it) for this class and Jack and Jason McCorrmac(spelling?) eventually built a nice AA/SA 64 X-Ram Hemi that ran well and beat the crap out of several oil pans with giant wheel stands. Other than a few A/SA racers hiding in AA/SA from the other A/SA races the class never really caught on. Now that NHRA reinstated the class at 7.5 lbs every one seems to have a "H**D" ON for the class. Have a nice day. Terry

NO, not everyone Terry, I have a SOFT one for those who put together a AA/ car and have the balls to race the way it was intended....drag racing is for 'MEN or LADIES'....now if NHRA lowers the other index's at least -.20 or even better-.50 and lets cars run flat out, drag racing will again be what it should be. |
