I AGREE to have individuals that do not regularly go to Indy have influence on the Race should not be. Get a Survey together for this race. I dont race Indy any more but I have a lot invested in that Class Racing.

I believe that only those who have attended over the last half decade or so should be polled. If you do not attend, or do not have any intentions to do so, you should not have a say. AHFS at Indy is a time bomb! I doubt that the general population of the thousands of STK & SS competitors are OK with the decision by NHRA and the SRAC to reimplement AHFS at the US Nationals. With the rising and out of control costs of building, updating and maintaining our combinations, for any single individual have the ability to destroy a combination due to AHFS at Indy is ridiculous. I know what all the non-attendees will say..."well those same guys can get AHFS anywhere!"...Yes you are correct; however most competitors don't, and the biggest reason is that they have Indy Class Runoffs to showcase all their hard work, run against all their peers at the same venue and pay homage to their team(engine builder, tuner, chassis guy, manufactures, sponsors, etc...) There is still time to right this wrong. All competitors should reach out to your SRAC Reps, in writing, to voice your displeasure with this decision and ask that it be reversed.

If you have been to Indy or watched online, the last 5-6 years, since AHFS has been lifted for the US Nationals, has been some of, if not the best class racing we have seen in a long time at the Big Go! Please, lets all do our part in getting that racing back!

I think that it is the one race to leave alone. It works being wide open. And you can find out who are truly the quickest qualifiers instead of who wants to hit a combo or not.

I don’t post much on here but I will on this subject. I feel like most of us in SS and Stock work hard to get where we are and spend a lot of money on combinations to get them as fast as possible. Sometimes we spend to get better and we go backwards that’s life. I have been going to Indy since 1982 and I was 10 yrs old watching tear downs for Indy at the Ford dealership for the class winners and the fastest guys. That was awesome for me and growing up i wanted to be a class winner at Indy. Fast forward now we have to add weight and use restrictors to slow down at races to be under that trigger so we don’t get HP. For one race a year it should be open and Indy is the mark and always will be the mark. If your fast there you will be anywhere I understand the 1.20 and faster gets automatic so do we move the automatic HP for this race only to 1.30 or 1.40. So number 1 if he wants it will have HP on Monday/Tuesday because the majority will not be faster than 1.40 and we can run it out without and restrictions. That is my 2 cents I want to be the fastest and have spent the money But if we are not and get beat then we work on are car and try to get there. That is class racing and always should be So let’s open it up. Thanks and sorry for the long post. Matt A
