Default Turbo 350 direct drum snap ring question

Working on a 25 yr old Rossler 350, the snap rings for the return spring retainer and also the one for the sprag are tack welded. Just wondering if this is still the best practice or perhaps someone has something like a spiraloc or something? I have not found anything on various websites.

Best to leave the snap rings tacked in place . The rpm's these snap rings see compared to stock application is much higher . They tend to open up at high rpm and come out of the groove . Spirolocks are slightly better but cannot be reused , so it is better to tack weld in about three places .

The sun gear to sun gear shell snap ring is sometimes tacked, as well . They will come out.
