Will Gators fill up at 8 this year?

Shot in the dark since they haven’t release the quotas yet (45 in 2020) but if they keep it that low it will fill at Grade 8 for sure. Simply too many good races on consecutive weekends to pass up.

Last year the quota for the Gators was 60 cars in stock and super stock. The southern nationals that was ran at Gainesville in the fall was 45 in each class. Should be 60 again this year. Last year it closed at 7 grade points about 30 seconds after it opened for 7 grade points. There was only about 3 spots left when 7 opened. every year it has gotten tougher to get in there. I remember when 3 would get you in.

The real question is :
Will the governor of Florida let them have the Gator Nationals with the increasing number of Covid cases?

Coming from a Florida resident the race will go on as planned unless something drastic happens. If folks are worried....... they should stay home. Simple as that.

The governor of Florida has been proactively saying he wants the economy of Florida to remain open and stable. We were in Florida for Thanksgiving and paid a visit to Disney which was open on limited basis by reservations only but it was still pretty packed. I was amazed coming from our state that is ran with an iron fist by King Cooper that they allowed that many people in at a time but I personally have no problem with it. If you're scared of the virus for health reasons or age I can understand that but for people not at high risk we should have that freedom to go about our lives.

Just saw the thread by Robbie Racer about AZ shutting down racing, but as pointed out we are moving along with Florida racing, New Years Nationals at Palm Beach and Gainesville starting up their T&T schedule this weekend. Unfortunately doubt we get to see Canadians anytime soon, the Howes clan being regular entries to the early D2 races.

Thanks Mike for the quota correction for last year, was hard to keep up with all the moving pieces and places. If they set the quota at 60 it just may fill pretty quickly at Grade 8.

JC, I knew about this, but where is this thread?

If this keeps up, I'm going to have to move over there with Kennedy!
