CP4.2 pump exploded and killed the engine.

Ram says no replacement parts till Late Nov. or Dec.
Filed a case but they do not give a s**t!

I know MULTIPLE ( If not most ) other 2020 Ram Diesel owner in the exact same leaky
boat!!! No truck for months to come and no compensation!!! I make it tough for us to
make a living without our trucks!

My son hired an attorney and Lemon Lawed his 2019 Ram 2500
that blew 2 engines in 8 months and 12,000 Miles and was out
of service at Dealer for 60 plus days.

Buy a new Ram at your own RISK!!!

I have been a Mopar Guy for 60 years and I hate to say
that.
Sorry to hear about your pump failure. I believe Ford uses the same pump on their new trucks, but not sure about the Duramax. Doesn't help you now, but I think the best fix is the CP3 conversion.

CP3 conversion would fix it BUT would void the
warranty which would please Ram no end.

When pump blew it scattered metal thru system.
Destroyed Injectors and filled engine with corrosive Diesel
by the Gallon.

It took out cam gear and Killed Cat converter
system. Engine is two months old and JUNK!!!
Ram tries to blame it on bad fuel and denies Warranty Claim=
"Customer Must Pay for Repairs - Estimated over $15,000+++.

I had fuel checked and NO Contamination when tank fuel tested.
I hired an Attorney and now Ram states NO FIX and no parts anyway
to fix it.

Now the Darn thing just Sits at the Stealership. Jon's friend is Service
say it will be NEXT YEAR if ever to fix it if they are still in business.

We are trying to Lemon Law it and get at least some of our money back.

Jon was able to Lemon Law his 2019 2500 6.4 gas after two new engines and 3 month
at the Stealership without fixing it.

Remember I am sponsored by a Mopar Dealership and very well liked and connected.....
I am still scr*wed. I do not think you will do much better than I am doing!

BUYER BEWARE!!!!

Have you filed a claim with your insurance company? I had bad diesel in my Ram and State Farm covered it minus my deductible.

Kyle hit the nail right on the head. A few years ago my brother inlaw had the same issue with his Power Stroke and claimed it on his insurance. They were on vacation and they paid for his repairs and RV storage.
A good friend on my is going thru the same thing with his Eco-Boost Ram 1500 pickup.

Leave your truck & take one off the lot. That's what they should've done.

No contamination of any sort found in Diesel in
the fuel tank.

The pump broke due to very bad Engineering Design = IMO

I have been with State Farm since the 70's and I am
not going to lie to them or cheat them.

My attorney will hopefully help me get this handled.

I am not suggesting that you lie to them. It is FCA that made this a binary choice independent of your testing analysis. They did so in their report when they said it was a fuel issue rather than a component failure.

Either it is a component failure that would fall under a warranty claim or a fuel issue that may be covered under your comprehensive coverage with your insurance company. You did not write the report on your vehicle.

Only trying to help you out. Take it for what it is worth.

Thanks!

They stated it had to be a fuel problem

I have the work order and inquired of them.....
They said no reason to test = I had to be a fuel problem
that makes pumps go out. After going on all the Forum-
The CP4 pump is a very common disaster on 2020.

I have an attorney who is expert in these cases = But I
still have a tough time making a living in the Trailer Business
without it!

Truck was new in June
