It had to do with not being able to dry the track enough in the shutdown areas. It was in the 70s, and virtually no wind. They told us it would have required scraping rubber off the track due to water trapped under it.
We go into second round Monday am. Chance of rain tonight again.

Yes they went to 1/8 mile due to the rain under the rubber, it would have had to be fully scraped for them to run 1/4. The plan was originally to give just the .90 cars a time shot in the morning to set the stop ratios but, I heard that the rollout was changed Friday Night after the qualifiers and when it leaked out it was a march to the tower to get a time run for all which definitely put everyone behind, I think SG had 1st round around 5:30-6, so it was pushed to Monday. Of course people weren't happy about it but, anyone who'sd been a promoter or track owner knows you're not going to make everyone happy. I mean they did the right thing and offered the racers the ability to drop out and get their Money back which I think was awesome.
