Does anyone know of a go-to person or company that rebuilds/restores 3461S Carter carbs?
I don't have a core, so I need to purchase one for a (1963 Impala SS) classic street car. Needs to be fully restored including re-coloring/plating all the parts back to factory spec. Would be nice if the builder could custom calibrate for and engine making more power than stock, but it won't see the track. I've found a few places online but don't know the reputation of one vs the other. I figured the stock & S/S community would have some good sources. Thanks for any suggestions. Todd |

Dean Oliver rebuilt my 1969 340 4 speed Carter AVS 4611 to factory spec. Works fine.

Does anyone have or know of a source for a 3461S core that I supply a rebuilder to work with. The one person I spoke with doesn't keep any spare carbs around, or at least not a 3461S, so it looks like I'm going to need to track down a core.

This looks to be a 62 to 64 vette, 327 300/340 hp carb. You can get a new ID tag from Chicago Corvette, $40.00 if needed.

He informed me the 3461S was part of a family of carbs that all looked virtually identical and the 3720/3721 would probably fit my needs since I didn't need a specific number for my application. I ordered one fully restored which will be here in a couple weeks. Worst case I may need to send it to one of the above mentioned people for calibrating for my new build. |
