I did a MkV a couple years ago ,and others in the past.
the last one .the fitment of the torsion bar seemed off for the nylon washers and was actually compressing the washers and tightening the arm against the tube . There should be no friction there . I got thinner washers from McMaster-Carr. We also questioned the spring rate of the new bar and were told by MW that they are the same rate and vendor they were 30 years ago. The wrong ride height can screw things up too , but that is usually very obvious
