Is your life worth one more ride in a car? Ya could have an accident.
walk down the street? Ya could get mugged. day of fishing? Ya could drown. greasy cheese burger? Ya could clog those arteries. passionate night? Ya could have a heart attack. I'll take my chances.

Considering it seems that its OK for people to line up at Costco for 3 hours, (Gotta stock up on toilet paper!), or go to the Supermarket or Home Depot, I can`t say that I would feel any less safe at the dragstrip. Maybe leave a little more space between the pit spots, and in the staging lanes, but I like to think most racers have enough common sense to leave a little room between their buddies in the pits. Now, of course could be a problem for the "Street Outlaw" types who require 40 crew members on the starting line, or the Kallita "mosh pit" pileup after one of their cars wins, but I think most of us would be ok, even at the LODRS level, where spectators are not a huge number.

My husband just spent a week in the hospital, due to a bicycle crash (and his friends thought my sport was dangerous!) Life is fragile, any of us can be gone tomorrow. He has a suppressed immune system due to the drugs he takes for his Rheumatoid Arthritis. We always have to be aware of where we go, who we come in contact with, as a common cold could escalate into pneumonia for him. We don't expect everyone to work around his issues.
We met with his personal physician for a follow-up appointment today. His doctor expressed that the immune compromised, people with chronic or terminal issues, the elderly, are most affected by this virus. He has treated patients with COVID, done over 500 tests and only 5 have been positive. He believes the fragile should stay home, as much as possible, but the rest of us need to get out and live again. Staying home actually weakens our immune systems as we're not being exposed to anything. Be careful, wash your hands frequently, don't touch your face, nose, or mouth, use common sense. Eat well, drink a lot of water, treat your body properly. Churches will soon open in California, some of these churches have 1000+ members. But we can't go to an outdoor concert. Beauty salons can't open until Phase III, but you can get a tattoo. You can't work unless you're an essential worker but the Governor wants people to volunteer at food banks. You can go to the grocery store or WalMart but can't rent a camping space in a national forest. None of this makes sense. As soon as the race tracks are open, we are going to be there!

39,000 died in car wrecks last year. And yet, I got in my vehicle and drove off this morning without shivering in fear for my life.
Life is too short. I have no expectation of getting out of here alive. I do intend to try to have some enjoyment and not hide from every boogieman they tell us is out there. |

I posted a video, on FakeBook, which was made by 2 Bakersfield ER doctors..
Not only is the Wuhan Virus killing people, it is killing hospitals. Without "elective" surgery, you know like a biopsy, carpel tunnel and hundreds more, they are furloughing nurses, doctors and closing off unused hospital floors They used the data from CDPH and CDC. The information didn't fit the YouTube agenda and removed, so it was also removed from FakeBook. Go online and Google "2 Bakersfield ER Doctors" and a link to the local ABC affiliate will pop up. It's not a very fast, but you can take a look at what's being hidden by YouTube and FakeBook It's long, but worth every second. Don't be sheeple.. PS: A company by the name of CALMATTERS has put out press releases all over the country, when they spoke to only Bakersfield, to discredit the info. I don't think that there is an actual original video to view and make your dissensions

Things are starting to open up here in South Dakota. We were not locked down, but several of cities had ordinances in place. Sioux Falls is our major hub, 200,000 people in the area, and had one of the hot spots in the local pork processing plant.
The mayor is opening up Sioux Falls as are the other cities. There are restrictions on the eating/drinking facilities and will be for awhile. But, the mayor realizes people need to get out side, so the parks and recreational facilities are opening up. My grandson is happy, looks like he is going to get to play legion baseball this summer. Fresh air and sun shine, some how I think that is good for you! Thunder Valley in Marion is opening this week end with a full schedule. Social distancing and other stay safe ideas will be practiced. Good for them! Time to get on with life. Let 'er rip! #5458 Curt Rees
