I think this ? has been asked here before, but I getting ready to build up a 12 bolt for my 3900 lb Stocker, and I'm looking at a US Gears (US made) Lightning Isotropic gear set for it. Just wondering if anyone else has used this series gear in a Stocker before? Thanks and stay healthy.

i had a regular set of US pro gears regular finish... I wasn't really happy with them.. they looked fine until I put gear marking compound on them... once they had compound on them they had a rough finish on them...like they were finished with a 4''grinder...that is exagerated but finish reminded of that... setup good.. pattern was good.. maybe a little more gear noise, was lower ratio though... ratio didn't work for me took back out after dozen or passes, now roughness shows up well..
I have been told it is better to buy your gear.... set it up and then take it back out and have it isotropic, REM or whatever finishing done.... after polished they say its hard to see or have a good pattern.. IDK this is what I was told... and it makes sense to me.. |
