There are different orings for use with GM or Melling pumps. When I installed a Melling 10295 on my 5.3 I learned you use a different colored oring for the two different pumps plus it depends on whether the pickup has a tapered end or straight. Red, green, blue and black. Good instructions came in the Melling box.

Bill that is excellent information and sometimes overlooked. If you Change the pump get it first then get the right o-ring. Have seen a repair that fixed the problem initially but it returned. Melling pump with o-ring that was ordered for the year of truck and engine application.

My 2011 2500 with a 6.0 has 60,000 . Is ok now . Did they fix the problem by 2011 or am I looking to keep an I out for this problem .
