Mike is here at the trauma center in St. Lukes Hospital 801 Ostrum St. Bethlehem PA 18015--I spoke with the hospital this morning and because of HIPA laws they can't give any information about his condition (I thought it was worth a try)--his sister Karen is the family spokesman and I'm waiting to hear from her . I'll pass any info on that I receive. Right now all we can do keep him in our prayers.......

The police report

A man was flown to a Lehigh County hospital Wednesday afternoon after being involved in a two-car crash in Tinicum Township, police said.

Tinicum Township Police Chief James Sabath said he was withholding the man's identity until family members could be notified about the crash. No one else was hurt.

The crash happened about 4:45 p.m. on Route 611 about 300 feet north of Durham Road, Sabath said. He said the man was driving north when a car driven by a 20-year-old New Jersey man crossed from the southbound lane into oncoming traffic. They crashed.

The northbound car spun and crashed into a tree, Sabath said. The driver was flown to St. Luke's Hospital-Fountain Hill. Sabath said he did not know the man's condition. He said there were no signs of alcohol or drugs being involved in the crash, which remains under investigation.

Route 611 was closed for nearly an hour and a half.

Good news,

Mike is breathing on his own and has opened his eyes and lifted his arms.

Today was a good day

Excuse me ScatPackTom, I do not know who you are and I do not care. But I will tell you this: Before you start running your mouth like a lot of people do on these sites about things that they have no clue about, GET YOUR FACTS STRAIGHT! This is very hard for the people that truly and honestly care about the man. Mike did not open his eyes, lift his arms or breathe on his own today. What happened was they stopped some of the pain meds and his eyes and arms twitched. If anyone else has anymore questions, contact Terry Welsh and he will tell you everything that is going on up to date. Sorry for this rude and unnecessary post, but this is very hard for my father and all that are good friends with Mike. The racing community is the only family Mike has ever had.

Excuse me Kevin, but Terry is who told me Mike did those things. 4:59 today as a matter of fact.Terry said Mike had a positive day.Maybe you misunderstood or I wasn't explicit enough but don't jump down my throat buddy. The fact that you imply that I don't care about Mike because you don't know who I am says something about your character.

I hope amd pray Mike makes a full recovery.
I have been in a sort of funk, the last couple of days because of some problems with the car.
I read this and realized how insignificant the car really is.
