why would anyone run any NHRA RACES. They have reduced the fields and the money. Rampy has seen the light and gone back to bracket racing. I have raced for almost 60 years and have run super gas super comp, comp and super stock and I going run brackets

People like running in the spotlight, they like the trophies.
Rampy retired because he has done it for 40 years. He also was doing it for a living, can’t make enough to do it for a living anymore, at least not easily. Most people are not doing this to earn a living. They race for fun, and the enjoyment of the sport.
Brackets is starting to die. Ask the racers from Cecil County. Nhra is still filling fields. Just making them smaller now.

I am trying to figure out the "Baby Gators" thing.
Do you have to be in /on the list for Stock at the national to run at the "Baby's"?
If not, then does that mean you can run class, at the "Baby's" with out being on the national list?
If that is right, is the "Baby's" considered an open?
If that is right, does that mean AHFS does not come into effect?
If all of this is right, could a class winner be in the national if not on the orig
list.
Done.

Terry it’s just like a Division race will the addition of a Class Elimination race, think there’s even some contingency for class winners. AHFS applies and makes no difference if you’re entered in the Gators or not.

The Baby Gators is not actually a separate race. It is one of our regular division 2 points races. Seeing how it is run the weekend before the Gatornationals it got dubbed the “Baby Gators “. The first couple of years it was run like any other points race. Then last year it was decided to run the Gatornational class run offs during that event to save time at the national event. Anyone entering the points race was eligible to run for the class Wally. You did not have to be entered in the national event. If you entered the national and did not attend the divisional then you missed your chance to run for the class Wally. The race draws a good car count in S and SS for that reason. If you are entered in the national they will park you down at the road course track for both events. If you are only there for the divisional only they will park you in the pro pit area.

Barry,
I agree with you about racers who have supported the Division and Open races. Apparently it has not dawned on the track owners that these new nhra quotas will hurt them in the long run as racers begin to figure out that only the wealthy and retired folks can regularly attend 8 or more grade point races a year. nhra has been dangling the National Event entry in front of all of us for decades and sooner or later the guys/gals will give up if these quotas are not remedied. Then the track owners will be left holding the bag. The track owners and corporate sponsors have the most influence on nhra. SO, here's the question. Do we just sit and watch nhra bulldoze the Sportsman Categories or do we try to reach out for support from the tracks and corporate sponsors? Are the 20+ people who "liked" your post willing to sign/endorse a letter seeking support from the track owners and or corporate sponsors? Will other racers join in an effort to save our sport?

Let's say there was NO quota and NO grade point requirements for the Gatornationals.Anybody that wanted to race in Stock Eliminator was free to compete.

How many cars would be there? Probably about 60.

How many racers are running divisionals exclusively for the grade points, which seems to be your assumption here?

Divisionals might be my favorite events. I run them because I enjoy the style of racing, enjoy the pace, and like to compete for a division championship.

They even have class racing at some of them now.
