In mid year 2016 the 77 Pacer running the same motor combo got the 2 HP put back on back to 150HP for both the 77 pacer and the 77 Gremlin. I assumed that it was the engine family rule as before.

Now the 77 Pacer gets the 2 HP off back to 148, shouldn't the 77 Gremlin running the same Engine Combo, also go to 148HP?

Before I send a letter to Tech, asking for clarification.

Thanks

Eric
The 77 Gremlin should have never got HP in the first place. The 2 HP hit was due to a couple of fast runs in a Pacer which is a completely different car and considerably heavier.

Thanks Jim, and all, sent letter off yesterday afternoon to Pat. Am hopeful to be able to pull the spare tire out of the trunk next year.

2hp isn't much to the fast cars of the world, but 38 pounds is quite a bit to the slow motion travesty of justice of all that is holy that is the Gremlin.

...and yet my 1979 Spirit/AMX, using the very same smog 258 engine as these '77-79 cars do, the same head, same intake, and the same carburetion, is still listed at 150. Really on the ball out there aren't they? You'd think they'd look down the charts for what this engine combo was used in and adjust them all, but I guess not.

Doesn't matter to me yet, as I can't reach the index without a big influx of money, but someday I hope to be writing too.

Woo Hoo!

Thanks, I've been busy with work sourcing and acquiring digital printing presses, visiting vast warehouses next to bars that advertise 1.99 16 ounce drafts and a 2.99 margarita all day ever day..parking lots 100% full at 10:30 am...makes you think....,

no print is not dead, its just more on demand now, digital, variable data, etc, today was layout with the electrician, for 3 more 240 outlets getting installed so we can run all 4 of the big ones at once.......not as exciting as getting the 2 hp back...but kinda close.... hp reduction dance....think bevis and butthead....I'm not good .....no its not pretty, I can't dance just ask my bride.......

Thanks all

Eric

My understanding is same body wheelbase etc. and not
just engine package to qualify for reduction.

Pat has a darn tough job and has really learned a lot in last
couple of years!

I would not to have his job at any price.

In the beginning = I did not like him much ( or him me either )....
I have gained a lot of respect for him.
