Even in the NFL, if you cross the line you will be ejected with a fine to follow...

Maybe they have a double-secret rule for un-pro like conduct. Obviously unsportsmanlike conduct rule DIDN'T apply, like it would for any sportsman competitor.

There is literally no defense for what Steve Torrence did. It was inexcusable and he needs to be punished for it. There would be no argument from anybody if he was a sportsman racer. You can't make acceptable to sock somebody just because of who you are.

Seeing ST was awarded the TF Championship last night says to me there is not going to be any hard disciplinary action. With all the comments on various sites NHRA wants to down play this as much as possible for the sake of losing sponsors, fans etc. It's always about the money!.I'm sure they had a long talk with both involved.I see the next step being they hold a press conference with ST and Ferre present.ST opologizes for his"heat of the moment reaction" Ferre accepts, they bump fists end of story. Then the only action NHRA "MAY" take is a fine.Hope I'm wrong but we all know who were dealing with...gsa612

They should put on gloves and have a charity match in the ring.
