Guess when you have money rules don't apply to you and I guess being a cancer and heart attack survivor gives you special privileges to act like that !

Steve did go to Ferre's pit. Conversation made between them was televised and it appeared they both shock hands and appeared to leave on good terms. Just saying.

I'm a 2 time cancer survivor and it has nothing to do with this, he was and is out of line and NHRA should step up and penalize this moron and strip him of the title. He was out of line and non-professional bottom line done.

Best I can tell... the "Kid" is 34 and Steve is 36. Might have made for a good dustup. No one got punched and more importantly, no one knows what was said after Steve shook hands and pointed his finger. Certainly this was a bad situation but lynching hasn't been legal (except maybe in Texas) for some time. I'm not condoning the action but surely this isn't the first time someone in NHRA has gotten physical with an opponent.

Mr. Ferre should have just called Officer Friendly, had him led away in cuffs. Simple....Kalitta, who is probably one of the more deserving and nicer guys of that group gets the Championship. Could you imagine what the NHRA would have done!! LOL

I'm not a lawyer but I'm pretty sure Cameron Ferre would need to pursue it not NHRA.

A really stupid move by Torrance. The kid can drive a fuel car, and up until now, has seemed to manage the fame and fan adulation pretty well. This dumbass decision will likely follow him for the rest of his driving career. If he wanted to demonstrate true character, he should voluntarily vacate the title and give up the points for the race.

I think Torrence felt that he took too long to stage which does have a negative effect on those cars. I don't blame Ferre either BUT i do think the timing was bad. No offense but Torrence did have a championship on the line. I would think maybe they would have worked out how they both would stage back in the lanes. HOWEVER i do still think Torrence came out of it looking like a complete idiot. They did end up hugging it out. Side note- That was a very emotional event for the CAPCO team as one of their guys son was killed in an accident earlier in the week. Lotsa emotions in that camp this past weekend. I agree Torrence should have been punished in some way. Dunno if Kalitta would have wanted to win it that way.
