Why do automatic stockers have buttons on the wheel?

I think that tear down should be apart of the participation of STK/SS racing. To this day I carry gaskets and the tools to take what ever the tech person wants to see. As far as no sleep, I can remember leaving the tear down barn at 9 pm and have to be ready to race 9 AM the next morning. BTW that was the days when we couldn't leave the vehicles at the track and you put it back together at the hotel. Maybe got 3 hours sleep and we used nothing but manual hand tools. It was the common knowledge that that is the way it was, too bad if you were on the barn list.

Tear down is already a part of the stock / super stock classes. Maybe not as much as you might like to see it. Maybe some of that reason is the age of the tech personnel and competitors. I know our tech director in D2 is well past 70 years old and putting in a long day of racing I doubt they would want to do a bunch of tear downs late into the night. This is also probably some of the reason people are not that interested in setting records like they used to be. They did some extensive tear down at indy and found very few infractions so I don't think there is rampant cheating going on these days.

Harry is a great guy and we are lucky to have him in our division. I happened to see a post on facebook and saw his birthday and year and I was quite surprised to see what his age is. I can only hope that I would be in as good of shape and health when I reach his age. I can tell you I don't have the energy that I had at 30.
We are also lucky to have Dave Ley and his wife Gloria at our races at the beginning and end of our season. They are a great addition to the D2 team when they are down here

Dave and Gloria are great people! Everyone should really be glad to have Dave give his time and effort to the racers with everything he has been through!

Good question, 2-step switch must be on the brake pedal.
Must be for the delay box.

Some guys have line-loc's there. My car was that way when we got it in 2017, but I've never driven one with it anywhere other than on the shifter so changed it before I ever drove it.

As far as towing to the lanes. I think the fair rule would be that the car that is pitted the farthest away should be allowed to tow to there opponents pit and both cars need to be driven to the lanes from there. Then there is no advantage to the person with the up-close pit spot.
