Thoughts are with Donn & Kim Rhode
I'm older and come in contact with a lot of people undergoing valve repair or bypass surgery. Think long and hard about it especially if you are older than eighty. It is common for plaque or other material in your arteries to come loose and travel to your brain. Thus a stroke. If your doctor tells you that you have no choice, well. Often, something can be done before you get too that point. I see so many people in their twenties that are nothing more than "time bombs". For sure they'll never need to worry about collecting social security. |

Just spoke with Donns' wife Kim, sadly his stroke was too severe. life support would be the only option, which he would not want. My friend and mentor has precious little time left, Gods speed Donn Rhode. I have no other words.

Very sad news! Always enjoyed chatting with him at the races. I remember as a kid watching him run at Norwalk during the Street Eliminator days. High winding small block 4 speed. I was hooked after that!
Thank you for the updates, Joe.
