Special thanks to Barry Parker and the rest of the individuals that have put a lot of effort into coordination of the LeBrun/Peters memorial race. It has been no small feat to pull together a race with that payout.
The ASRA Board of Directors also wanted to clearly post the ASRA portion of the payout which IS IN ADDITION TO the memorial race payout that Barry posted above. The attached image contains the breakdown of the track payout (which all participants are eligible for) and the ASRA portion (which only members are eligible for). The ASRA title sponsor also provides an additional $400 to the winner and $200 to the runner up if you are an ASRA member and have a Banks Chevrolet sticker on the car. As already mentioned, ASRA has been fortunate enough to have the support of the folks at Lebanon Valley (Howard Commander and Wayne Delmonte) who provide a 55 gallon drum of C12 to the racer that accumulates the most points across the two days of racing. This program has been going on for multiple years now and any racer is eligible as you don't have to be an ASRA member to win the fuel. Its definitely a nice bonus to the double header weekend. These are the purses for both the Saturday and Sunday races and both days are guaranteed payouts. If you are on the fence about joining ASRA, here are some other benefits to being a member:
Additional details can be found on our website at www.asra-ne.com or a board of director or existing member could help answer any questions. Hope to see a big turnout at this race as its truly a great thing to honor two legends of Stock Eliminator racing. *Note of Clarification: The double header ASRA race at New England Dragway is the weekend of July 27th and 28th which is not the weekend before the LODRS at Epping. In the past we have always tried to put our double headers back to back with the divisionals but the LODRS in New Hampshire is September 6-8 and there are racing conflicts both the week before and the week after that did not permit that from happening this year.

Some added details on the race format itself for anyone that hasn't participated in an ASRA race before.
Races are open to all NHRA and IHRA legal Stock and Super Stock participants. If the car can crossover to NHRA, the IHRA car must meet NHRA rules and use the NHRA index. If the class is unique to IHRA the IHRA rules must be met and the IHRA Index must be used. Races are an all run field regardless of car count. Each race will have 2 qualifying runs which could be subject to change at the discretion of the track manager (example: impending weather). Qualifying is based on reaction time with a full ladder established for the race. There are heads up runs during eliminations. Prior to making the first qualifying run, it is requested that all participants have their class designation clearly identified on their car and no changes are permitted after entering the staging lanes. After conclusion of the 2nd qualifying run, there is a driver's meeting in which the BOD addresses any items at the moment and the ladder is available for review. ASRA does have published bylaws with further details that can be found here: ASRA Bylaws Don't hesitate to ask for further clarification if there is any confusion. Thanks!

We still have a few more items from Sponsors that we will list when we get them in hand.
I was just thinking about what we could use them for. When it came to me. How about the car that best resembles a farm animal. Moo ! Barry |

A couple more sponsors onboard. M J Quinn was one of the first ones to contact me when we announced the Memorial Race. M J's Derby City Covers will make a custom fender cover for the winner of the Memorial Race.
Hoosier Tires have donated a gift Certificate for a buy one get one free set of drive tires. We will announce before the race what we will use it for. Thanks MJ and Hoosier Last edited by B Parker; 06-15-2019 at 12:43 PM. |

Summit Racing is giving the number 1 qualifier a $100. gift card and the number 2 qualifier a $50. gift card.
For those that don't know the ASRA uses your reaction times for qualifying. That is how the gift cards will be giving out not by how far under the index you run. Joe Santangelo Jr. is putting up $100. To the racer that wins any round by the smallest margin of victor for the whole event. Joe will pay the money directly to the winner for this award. Barry |
