Yes, a Super Stock profile can be ground on a stock journal cam core.
No, you will not have nearly enough piston to valve clearance with Stock Eliminator pistons and a competitive, even marginally competitive Super Stock cam. No, legal Stock Eliminator cylinder heads will not be competitive in Super Stock, and no, they will not likely work with the appropriate valve train for a Super Stock camshaft without major modifications. And no, the short block you describe will not withstand running it like it is a competitive Super Stock engine. Do yourself a favor, and build a good legal Stock Eliminator engine. Consider a combination that isn't utterly flogged to death.

Dan, why don't you just do a 350/250/230 and call it a day. You can use all of your 255 stuff and it fits into O/P/Q so not a lot of heads-up stuff. All you'll need is an intake and the right carb.

O/P/Q Stock, correct? Once he cuts the spring pockets for roller springs, his 441 heads he doesn't want to "carve up" aren't good for stock anyway.

In O/SA would be fairly light. Not have to worry about a roll bar and fancy seat belts.. Yeah do not want to cut up a set of Stocker heads. D Last edited by Dan Fahey; 04-14-2019 at 05:36 PM. |

What Billy said would certainly be the easiest way to get out. it will live a long time with a 2GC I have not looked in a while, but I think 230 is now 226. If it was light in O, you would really have to load up to get to Q. I think P is the way to go at 13.45. Good Luck

Do the 2Bbl stocker, just the changes you would have to make for a budget SS engine would cost more than a complete decent stocker engine. Been there done that.

Should be painted in few weeks finally. Needs glass and interior. Leon Miranian has the trans. Need roll bar and fuel system. Engine has 4bbl and two Qjets rebuilt for K/SA.. Currently an Impala, but can convert to Biscayne or Bel Aire. Do not have a place to work on it conveniently. |

Yeah, considering a Biscayne would be a 2 door sedan with a different roofline, I doubt just changing the emblems would get you thru tech.
