I think his issue with going to the large drive studs is factory style wheels will not fit over them. Then it requires them to have another set of race wheels to allow for storing/moving the car when the drag tires are off of it rather than a set of stock style wheels.

Examined everything..
Lug Nuts were all fine and not Binding.
But several if the Washers were deformed.

Installed new Moser Studs and Steel Washers.
Cleaned the washer surface, replaced a few Lug Nuts.

Going to be more attentive to safety aspects.
Will check then with a Torque Wrench before each race.

Did you ever measure the wheel center thickness and the lug nut length from washer to end?

Bobby, they can be drilled.

Not measured...used a piece of gum !!

What is wrong with that?
Works for Valve and Piston clearance.
Touch of WD30 pack it around the Stud.
If Clay was available would have used that.

How would you have done it?

Now days they have these things called measuring tools. Surely you have seen a tape measure ? And who uses gum to check valve clearance on a racing engine, because I want to stay away from them.
