There must be more to scale of sales needed than I understand. They sold over 209000 Fusions in 2017. You would think they made money on that many cars.

Don't forget about all the GM crap that's been coming from China in the last few years. Not sure if this is a completely correct answer but the big 3 have always had problems making a profit from building subcompacts. The Japanese make money because they have developed a system over the years. Its hard to beat them. China **** is one thing, what about the Indian ****/CRA*. Their manufacturing processes, from the items that I have bought for my business, make the Model T look like aircraft grade. I'm thinking that cars from the 60-70's that have a good source of aftermarket parts are the automotive deal for the future.Updated and government restriction free. they will get you from A to B is style with reasonable economy and comfort. You will need to know how to drive a car(non autonomous).

The Japanese did not develop the system. The Japanese implemented a system developed by American Arthur Deming. He tried to get the US carmakers to use his system but they told him to get lost.

Hi Dan...That was long before I move down to Fla. I bought it from Dickie Estivez. It was a fast back two door bench seat Galaxy . I had a brain fart I guess. Wished I still had it. It was a 390 Police Interceptor with solid lifters. It was like new. Getting rid of it is just one of those things I wished I had never done like getting married and having kids....LOL. Back then it was just a car and only paid Dickie around $9500 for it in the middle 1990's. I have a cpl. of pictures but I'm not sure if I can post them ? I will try.
