Heat doesn't help at all . It just makes it gooey-er and hard to work. You won't hurt the glass with a razor blade. Bend the blade and grab it with a small vise-grip for concave surfaces, or use half the blade , then the other.
The glass opens and comes off on those, right?

Maybe it depends on how long the tint has been on, but my experiance on my old 69 Fairlane Cobra mirrored what Mark said. I just used some new sharp razor blades, and the tint came off fairly easily, in large sections. Did not use any heat source. With many later car back glasses, you need to be very carefull around any electric rear defogger lines, very easy to damage or destroy, if that is a concern.

a friend of mine that tints. says to soak in zep mixed with 50/50 with water and cover with trashbags for 20-30 minutes and it should come off easy said to repeat for glue but also mentioned zep is strong and can ruin door panels and carpet if your not careful, wear gloves and make sure car doors are open

No offense meant, but that's the worst one I've heard yet.
What kind of Zep? They make many types of chemicals.

Thanks for all the info. I had all the glass out and on a table. Both side are done and reassembled now. Moving on to the back glass which has defroster lines in it. Not sure they're going to be there when I get done.

I'd be the guy who took the car to the professional refinishers and told them to do whatever they wanted with it. I can't afford to drive an extra day without glass
