The Can Am series is based in Ontario, Canada, Last year we raced at Grandbend, StThomas, Empire in New York and Toronto Motorsports in Cayuga . We have contacted the GLSSA in Michigan about having a race at Milan which would include both series. It was also mentioned that we could also get together with the Buckeye series in Ohio and possibly have a 3 association champion . ( I think that might be news to the Ohio racers ) .
If anyone from the Ohio series could contact me , we would like to get their views on this idea. And if Mike or Charlie would contact me , we can see if this would be possible. A bigger picture I think would work ,,, if all these smaller associations were to get together, and a larger sanctioning body picked up on this we would have a solid alternative to race with. Doug,
Charlie spoke to myself and Joe Jackson about the same sorta deal. Now more relevant than ever. Are you talking a race with all three associations (or more) racing one event at a track in between all of us? In your opinion, how would this work? A S/SS combo with a shootout of the top 8 or 10 in points in each series with a wildcard drawn of the racers from each series in attendance not in by points? |

While surfing through Class Racer posts I see that there is a Carolina Class Racer Association and the East Coast Stock Super Stock Association. Someone want to speak about what area these groups are in and when they run their races.

The Tri-State S/SS Association will allow existing IHRA classes (Pure Stock, Crate Motor, Stock/GT and SS/Production cars to compete in 2018. Our races are usually in eastern OH, western PA, and Maryland. Our season finale, The Mason-Dixon S/SS Fall Classic will be in less than two weeks in Hagerstown MD on November 3-5. One race each on 11/4 and 11/5; the Sunday 11/5 race paying a guaranteed at least $2,000, or more, to win.

I *am* glad to see associations start to talk to each other, finally. I was suggesting this several years ago, when there were neighboring associations who had TWO dates scheduled on top of each other. I had suggested that they take one of the dates and have both associations run at one track, and then both associations run at the other track on the other date, thereby having far more cars, and be able to pay far more, at BOTH events. No one ever did anything with it.

Seeing the locations mentioned show most if not all the racing is hugging the east coast. In most cases we can race year round out west but not much happens for stock and Superstock racing.

As usual Beard makes valid points. Scheduling race dates to work with HRA races and most groups has always been a headache. Finally we may have some direction to appease the different associations. Conversing will be the key. On a side note: Past history has shown that Series racers for the most part prefer to stay in their backyard and not travel. I would suggest that putting a "team" of players together to make another venue will help to make every ones race turn out better.
