Not in the guide, but advertised HP of 800 (not necessarily what they would submit to NHRA) would make for one one heavy behemoth...even in FSS/A trim I can't imagine it being competitive...

Imagine how much weight would be on the back tires!

Talking Re: Dodge Demon

While at local Dodge dealer two weeks ago a salesman told me they have 5 deposits. I was shocked that 5 were on order from Waldorf, Md. Gave salesman my number and asked him to call me when one comes in, should I hold my breath?

When the Hellcat came out my Father-in-law decided he just had to have one. Alk the dealers in our area wanted 5-10k over invoice so he searched around and found one in Virginia Beach and just paid the invoice. Wouldn't be surprised if the dealers do the same on these if the demand is high enough.

Not positive but from what I've heard, the Demon is MUCH lighter than a regular Challenger. I've heard anywhere between 3300 to 3450, all the heavy stuff was left out, or taken out, one of the reasons NHRA mandates a cage.
Might be all wrong, just what I heard from some "factory" people at Carlisle this summer.

Post Re: Dodge Demon

Demon articles still put the shipping weight between 4,200-4,300. While Chrysler did save a couple of hundred pound by removing some odds & ends, it still has a LOT of weight that's required for it to be street legal.

A lot of difference between "street legal" and race, as we know. Take out the 200 air bags and the nose anti whiplash device, it'll be a few pounds lighter. It'll be interesting to see what Fiat will list as the shipping weight, if they are even raced, at $85,000+ a pop.
