That type of racing is "hot" right now and their just trying to capitalize on it. It's all about "what's on TV" to capture an audience. Just like a few years back "Pinks" was the hot thing. The fans like heads-up racing cause they can easily understand it, but most racers have enough sense to know that most of the time, it's equivalent to "he with the most money wins". I wonder what the next big thing will be?

From the picture they have the correct amount of crew members lol Sounds like all the Stock and Super Stockers should form a protest during the eliminations. How many of them did they let on the starting line lol

If there were 10 each small tire and big tire cars for the shoot out, by the time you add the crews and hangers-on that's what? an extra 400-500 paying crew members and restricted area passes LOL

Tommy, I'm sure they get 15 crew members comp-ed at the gate too.

Bob, I'm sure they know exactly what they're doing. 70 year olds in 50 year old cars won't live forever. |

How many people understand the evolution of Stock? Twenty years ago I would explain it to non-racers and they could at least understand (sorta) what I was doing. I've been an arm chair racer since then, but I don't even begin to try to explain where Stock is now to people. We look at it as a performance based class; they (I assume) look at it as a very labor intensive class. Being that they are non-profit, I guess they're looking for something easier, since making money surely isn't a concern. (maybe a touch of sarcasm there) |
