Vincent Napolitano was the real deal, he loved the place and drag racing. The property is worth bookoo bucks and it's fate is obvious. Nothing last forever, but if the NHRA where legitimate, and it's not, they would cover their sorry asses and buy it to protect their "assets" in a major market. New York!

Don't think there's enough $$$ to satisfy all the cuts involved in the split. Not sure but I don't know if the property can be sold to continue as a racetrack. Besides, the curfew and noise restrictions make it impossible to run a constant flow of money making racing.
Between that and the changing demographics of the "new" racefans filling the seats is a challenge. I raced there since 1977 (brackets then Stock since 1999) till I sold everything in 2010 and I guess I would miss the place.

Nothing heard about any sale by the airport.I am certain the town would just love a few hundred houses on 100'x100' lots, maybe a couple new schools to build, new roads, bigger police force, utility up grades, and the higher property taxes to pay for it all.I hope it never happens.I don't know about other areas, but where I am, you don't see much real estate sellling regardless of what you hear on the news. But, then look at the area near the track in Bradenton. In 1985 we were told the land east of the new I-75 would remain agricultural, look on Google Earth now, and it now looks like a giant train set village. John Kissel
