Thanks for that. Not being a Chevy guy I had been trying to google various Chevy heads to see the same end view without success.
I am baffled on that quarter of a pie shaped adapter piece between the throttle and the intake, it must be messing up the airflow with a sweeping curve on the upper side and a 90 degree bend on the lower side. |

I would have gone with a lower intake and a better transition to it. That piece looks like the most restrictive spot on the entire intake system.
