You want the car in the other lane to have real radial slicks, but not you?
Of course he'll have lane choice too.
Better think this one through again.

Some of these new DOT drag radials work pretty good Mark.
The only dis advantage is the weight.
On a 9 sec. stocker the slicks might be better, but there are 7 and 8 second street cars running DOT radials.

I already run DOT legal M/T drag radials on my T-Bird Stocker at NHRA events.
It runs low 12's and the car runs almost the same with 30 inch bias ply slicks or 28 in. M/T DOT drag radials.

Go for it then .
7 and 8 second street cars are not "bracket racing".
Tricky DOT's cost almost as much as real slicks, don't they?

Tires are a sorted out issue. No need to relitigate.

The real issue is teching a new Pure Stocker.
Remember a few decades ago some new Cadillac FWD cars set their respective national records.
Ordered to tear down the owners had no idea how to do that.
They had to get a Caddy specialist (then rare) over to pull it apart for inspection, then reassemble!

Teching our cars is about adjudicating fair play.
This is why we need to talk and come up with solutions!
Not only to expand Pure Stock but like a Jim said .. S/SS especially for the future.
