Welcome to the latest enhancement, I've been to two Nats. so far this year and the experience has been deplorable to say the least and there's a trend. I reckon ya'll should be better off cause your under the track rules for this weekend which should roll into the Gators, I hope. Whoops, it's an NHRA owned track, yes?
Firstly, Pomona which is the easiest of all tracks to timely pit at, it took 5 hours to park 106 rigs. All this happens a day before you make Q runs and you've just wasted many hours. Don't even think about getting tires or a tranny/convertor change or any work on ya car. While there is no TECH line to go to, the credential line is yards deep, again killing your race weekend set-up time. You'll need to get used to that! Secondly at Phoenix, an even bigger joke. Rigs were circling the many access roads and parking lot's for hours before the 7:00 am gate opening. It was so bad that there were cop cars protecting the gate and making them keep moving. The Indian casino kept booting any rig from their property for days. Some paid to park in the expansive track a week or so early. Because this is a huge facility there was no reason for any of this. Rumor has it that the track would have taken all the rigs in but NHRA said NO!! Again, 5 hours to pit 110 rigs which is ridiculous to say the least, all in the day before Q runs and they absolutely don't give an FK !! Two rigs missed the gate opening while circling for hours by about 30 seconds and ended up being #60ish by the time they got to circle back around. To summarize, I feel that the inefficiency of the personnel will eventually run racers off and eventually cause racers to miss Q and TT runs because they are trying to put 20# of crap into a 10# box! The frustration level in the holding pen was so high that many racers were in the 'never again' mode. Isn't it great to be to be a customer of the World Famous NHRA ! As for Redman, we miss you so much, you were treated unfairly. Sorry everyone, I could go on but that's enough for now..

Perhaps just frustrated given how NHRA framed this change initially, see the link.
http://www.nhraracer.com/content/gen...173&zoneid=175 Agree that with any organization making changes it brings new challenges. The ball is in their court now to learn from the first two National events and hopefully make headway on where the new bottlenecks are occurring. As someone else stated a first year industrial engineering student could have predicted this. As for parking some experienced racers probably need to make some constructive polite feedback to those doing the stacking/parking. At a recent marathon event I was supporting my daughter-in-law's first 26.2 miler and noticed some "rookie" officials botching up some things and stepped in to show them how to improve what they were doing (which was nothing). They had obviously received no training nor understood how things are suppose to flow, perhaps some of this applies here. I've been unable to race for the last three years but just offering that racers can become part of the solution.

It is a beautiful day here in Gainesville for the Division 2 points race! Parking went pretty well after the initial screw ups and everyone today is just pulling straight in.
We went to Cedar River Seafood again for a great dinner last night, then to Country Foodly again for breakfast this morning. As usual good food. Test and tune starts here shortly from noon to 6 today and tomorrow. Radio station here is 90.3. I will try to get pictures later today. |

Like Patsy said, the weather is great Temps are in the low 80's. There are a few cars testing today. I would guess about a 100 are rigs here. They just trickle in a little at a time. No waiting when you get here.
I found a few cars out, I will try to get some more later. |

I love racing as much as you but I agree with Bernie how our members are treated by NHRA.You would think after over 60 years on putting on NHRA National Events they would know how to treat their cuctomers.KEEP ON KISSING THEIR ***.LOL

well it is another gorgeous day here in FL! Yesterday it was cloudy most of the day but no rain. We ran test and tune and the car ran a little better than it did at Orlando, so I guess he got it fixed at the KOA machine shop!!
Testing starts again today from 12-6. Our fan motor is supposed to get here today, so hopefully that will work out well also. And I am a happy camper today as we move the motorhome around a bit this morning until the satellite picked up again! So now we can watch basketball and Fox News again!! The place is really filling up. I predict at least 80 stockers will be here for the divisional! More later!! |

I echo Patsy's sentiments. Another great day down here at Gainesvilles Raceway. Testing to day feels like qualifying, the lanes are always full. The temperature is in the low 80's with low humidity. The DA is about 2200ft.
I have two set of photos and a few videos I will up load later. they Just announced test will extend to 7pm. |
