I can just imagine.
A friend who worked at Ebbets Field Dodge back in the 60's, got delivery of one of the LO Darts (that ended up being the SPEEDWIN car) and it came off the trailer with one of the header manifolds uncapped in some way. He told me it was rather loud that morning they received it.

Some local people must have thought it was the ghosts of the Brooklyn Dodgers fans roaring. LOL.

A reminder from time passed. Not totally "race ready" as some younger fans might think they were.
In the beginning:

My friends LO Dart kept on dropping its side door window down the slot and breaking. I believe he told me they replaced that glass a couple of times. Strap must have been faulty or not adjusted right. It was raw to say the least. Some parts were left in the trunk.
Today's Drag-paks are a far fetch from those qualities of years past.

Pardon me for getting off topic but that C Body just above the hood scoop in the background looks funky! It definitely has a 67 roof line but look at the trim/style lines above the wheels, especially the rear wheel. and the rear bumper area looks more early 70s. Possibly a one off prototype?

Did the LO and BO cars have the two vertical scoop supports originally from the get go or where they added shortly after? My memory ( or lack of ) says they came later.

Just curious. Does the letter's "LO" and "BO" have any particular significance to these vehicles? Besides being a rare production..
Thanks......

They came with them, the pic of the dart is Jack Thomas's car the day he picked it up in Detroit and it has them. Pics taken that day have been used in magazines over the years, and there are pics of his car being loaded up with several LO and BO cars in the background.

Looks like a production Dodge Monaco to me. I am old enough to have owned one. Lol That thing was a mile long space ship!

Found this on google. About the same view angle as the picture in question.
