Default 3rd gen firebird

What would be the best combo to run in a 3rd gen firebird as a stocker? Have a friend I am trying to talk out of building a bracket car and building a stocker.

The car is a 88. But if it is like the novas with some front end work it can be claimed different years.

Either a 305 or a 350 Tune port , that L98 is a good combo !
