Default Re: Larry Morgan's Jeg's Iron Duke

If you'll look on page 72 of the 1998 rule book, you'll see a picture of that T-1000 and a largish "JEG'S" logo on the door, on the beginning page of Modified Compact rules.

Gues I had my "Larry's" mixed up, too... Could have sworn Larry Morgan drove that car early on.... but I've slept since then. The more I think about it, the more "Larry Nelson" sounds right.

Thanks for all the good information.

Bill

My foggy memory thinks that Larry Nelson drove a Jegs sponsored 1967 "POST" Chevy II that ran C/SM.---- Larry Morgans H/A Fiero was sponsored by Castrol and the Nationwise Rod Shop.

Larry Morgan also ran Super Gas with the Fiero. .... They had a really low minimum weight if you ran a 4 cyl. ...I think He ran at several events in SG, before moving to Comp. ......Tom

Smile Re: Larry Morgan's Jeg's Iron Duke

the rod shop built the fiero to run in comp. eliminator. H/A it was an iron duke 5-spd. the few times it ran super gas was for extra seat time and to sort out the new engine combination. The fiero was available with an iron duke in it from the factory.
The t-1000 that larry nelson drove was run in modified compact class. The year of car he had was actually available with an iron duke in it from the factory. The t-1000 was a very nice car.
David nickens also raced an iron duke 5-spd. in modified compact when he first started.

Larry Nelson still has the Pontiac T-1000 with the Iron Duke engine, and occasionally competes in Division 3.
