That's not it Jim. The original concept cat was based on the current Dodge Dart platform but that was back in 2012. Totally different car now. The new Dodge Challenger SRT Demon will be shown in April of 2017 and for sale as a 2018 car. Jim

Thanks Jim, media got it wrong...imagine that! Look forward to seeing the new one. At the Woodburn Oregon Mopar show last summer you wouldn't believe how many Challenger SRT and Hellcats were there, got the Hellcat fever for a while but the wife got me over that in a hurry. Cool cars though.

The Demon is officially a go. But tight lips on content, engine, etc. It was originally the ADR (American Drag Racing) model, and I really didn't think it would make it to production. I was some people who know, but I guess loose lips sink ships or drive the media and the dealers crazy. I know it is hellcat based and we hearing 800 hp, fender flares. The original prototype came with 4 tires in the trunk, drag radials and light fronts. No rear seat. But whatever it is, it's a go. I don't know if they turned up the 6.1 with the 2.3 blower or is it a 392, 426, and what blower. The spies know.

I think that's it or the first prototype a couple years ago. I have been able to find out it has a bigger blower, and maybe some head and camshaft changes. It is still a 6.2. I got my spies out, but look for another midnight announcement soon from Mother Mopar.

The new videos are certainly just teasers , I wished they would show what they did to reduce the weight of the Demon by 200 lbs over the Hellcat .
