Exciting times for IHRA. I have been pushing a purse increase by increasing the entry fee roughly the same amount. I'm not sure it will happen, but I think it's a possibility. This would contradict NHRA which simply raises entries while payouts remain the same or decline.

"Assume" the schedule will be released at PRI....going to be very interesting to see. So far this is so much better than all the rumors that have been floating about. Really glad Summit has stepped up...may end my "boycott" since they dropped DRC as a major sponsor. Any yea, I know Summit has done a lot for Sportsman racers, just didn't like how it went down when they could have continued for the same money as a few sets of valve springs for KB racing.

This is great news. Now lets see a schedule. I'm hoping it's not like years past when they've scheduled their races the same dates as close NHRA races.

Maybe if this new format can get some traction in 2017, a few more tracks may jump in or jump back in the following year.
Dragway 42 could go a long way into getting some of the Ohio folks back into the IHRA mix.
