On small block Fords you should run a across over tube on the back of the intake put a tee in middle of tube or hose with a cap on it. These Ford have a bad habit of trapping air in the cylinder heads. Most intake have bosses you can drill and tap for fittings. After filling cooling system always bleed air at that point.
