I thought the bigger issues I had were poor camera angles, amateurish driver interviews, bad editing. As a fan of most motorsport shows I find Nascar has some of the best camera angles. They have cameras in the track, in the wall and it brings you right there. Drag racing can take a page from this coverage. There is NOTHING like the sound, feel and sight of a Nitro car during thr burnout and launch. Yet they almost never showed the burnout. They can have the starters view of the starting line in track at the 330 and guard wall finish line angle. The driver comments before the match weren't very interesting or entrrtaining. TV is all about entertainment and Fox/NHRA are missing entertainment vaule

I agree with you on this. I too joined NHRA ACESS and I think it is well worth the $99 fee.

As far as editing I thought the worst part was going from showing a car crossing the finish line and cutting instantly to the top end interview. May as well have a neon sign announcing that it's not live. ESPN at least sequenced things so it had a more natural flow. Honestly, to me it seems like just about everything that has changed is worse. Hate to be a grumpy old man, but that's what it is. |

I don't give a hoot about it being broadcast live because I record it and watch it later and always have. That way I can turn a 3 hour show into about 2 hours by fast forwarding through the commercials, and even shorter now if I fast forward whenever Tony is talking. ESPN was waaay better than Fox. Another round of lead inserted in the foot of the NHRA powers that really do not have a clue what people want or how to run a business.

I also thought the all access was well worth the $99 considering the cost of watching other pay-per-view events it is a bargain to get the whole season for this. The camera views were great and the commentators were actually pretty good, I say nice job NHRA on this one.

Well, I also gave in and bought the $99 package but I wasn't too happy with it. It was fine if you want to watch the pros but when it came time to run super stock 2nd round, I think it was, all I had on my screen was a big Gator Nationals logo so I didn't get to see Kevin's run. You could hear the announcer but couldn't see anything. Maybe they were having technical difficulties or something because it did come back on later, but as you all know, the main reason I watch is to see my son so I was disappointed that I had to miss that run after shelling out the $99. And as far as that goes, we used to get the same coverage for free with ESPN3 on certain races.
