Clifford's primary objective is to grow the brand and let's face it, it starts with the Professional categories. The NHRA is a mess and he clearly understands the issues. In business it starts at the top and trickles down to enhance the entire program.
He's correct about appealing to younger people, the Millennials and Generation X, many of us are Baby Boomers. I hope a healthier NHRA translates into better opportunities for and respect of the sportsman racer. I believe he will be measurably better than Tom Compton. Here is Billy's post from the other thread. I was thinking about posting something about it myself.If Dwight has the original copy, that's fine with me.
If anyone is interested, we can explain it further. If not ,we can forget all about too. Apparently NHRA already has. Quote:

To quote Frank "I believe he will be measurably better than Tom Compton"
So, is he taller? I like numbers. All this reminds me of a song that covers the numbers we will probably get out of all this.

Be patient, if things don't change for the better, then;
He will be held accountable on this forum, that's for sure! Last edited by Frank Castros; 01-31-2016 at 10:09 AM. |

Frank, 'accountability', really? Don't recall accountability being in vogue in the past few years, within the higher ranks of any bureaucracy of course.

Wow!
I thought I was being reasonable, obviously you guys don't agree and I'm good with that because being skeptical is healthy I guess we'll see what he brings to the table. Last edited by Frank Castros; 01-31-2016 at 11:21 AM. |

Frank,
See post # 27 http://www.classracer.com/classforum...t=61035&page=3 Just my take on it. That is why we have the "Bean Counters" running everything instead of a "Racer Orientated" person.

Glanced through that article as I sit here trying to recover from a really bad case of the flu.
An oil pan pressure switch? I really have to wonder if some one didn't suggest that just to see if he'd repeat it. Seriously. "A moratorium on the introduction of new parts"? Seriously? From the guy who just forced them to buy new wheelie bars, and a complete new induction system that includes a new front clip for the body. Now, to be fair, the TV package is the best deal NHRA has ever had, by far, it's good thing, a really good thing. The licensing deal is good as well. As far as oil downs go, it doesn't matter who oils the track, so long as they do everything safely possible to minimize the impact, and they are not a multiple offender, there's no need to beat people up over it. It's racing, things break. Now, continual, multiple offenses, sure, hit them for it. Intentional failure to minimize the impact (we've all seen the guy who unloads a crankcase or transmission pan and obliviously rolls right down the middle of the lane for the length of the track), yep, nail them. We all asked for change, we all wanted Compton gone. Let's see what 2016 brings.
