We are charting new ground [for me] with the usage of a Holley EFI system. The system has two throttle bodies, eight ignition coils, eight injectors, all the normal sensors, data recorder, and electronic dash display.
For me, the EFI lessons are welcome and I will document the learning. With this buildup the EFI is the star. While the chassis, drive train, body and paint will all be outstanding, show casing the Holley EFI will be the main attraction.

While Monte worked with the Super 10 block I kept busy with the Roadster's rocker arm set up and pushrod length checking.
*Note the intake lifter and rocker offset *Note the cylinder head height. The head is a Brodix 11 degree casting worked by Kevin Self. As I began checking the pushrod length I quickly realized this head is not a typical small block head, it is very tall. To establish the proper pushrod length required using a BBC exhaust length checking pushrod!

#227 shows what can be considered "big lift"
#229 shows the 60 MM cam journal. Monte says it looks like the engine has two crankshafts #230 shows the cam at 113* per the cam card #231 cam at 113* and intake valve a full "big lift" ![]()

At Woodfin Automotive we work on EFI equipped cars and truck most every day. Yet, we do not race those cars ! Nor do we engineer the systems, we simply repair them.
Our roadster is not only a new exercise in drag racing with EFI it also requires some home spun engineering. In keeping with the basic theme of hot rodding if you are not modifying or customizing every part on the package you are being remiss. The engine is a Brodix aluminum block with raised cam and raised deck. EVERYTHING that bolts on the block requires some tweaking. Here I am spotting the magnet bolt that will screw into the cam gear. The magnet is set at 195 degrees before TDC #1 firing. It identifies the #1 cylinder position for the ECM and begins the injector firing sequence.
