Make sure you have a good thick 283 core block before you do anything to the block. The cam tunnel should be centered and the clys soniced for thickness. Some guys are sleveing down 4in blocks to get thick cly. Tom

Thanks for the much needed info , I have to get back into remembering and studying everything I need to know to build a stocker again. I Get away for a bIt and forget everything again , so I can use all the refreshing I can get
I was thinking of picking up a sonic tester possibly off ebay not sure how good they are ? But thought it might be worth owning
