Re: Live from Reading, Pennsylvania - NHRA Keystone National
This is a tuff deal for you folks. The Storm has been upgraded to a Hurricane now and the computer models are becoming more identical bringing the storm inland just south of DC. You folks work hard to do this stuff as well as plan your racing schedule. I was there in the mid to late 90s when the whole lower pit area and the last 5-600 feet of the shutdown area was under water (I was lucky to be parked on the hill behind the tech barn). Then another time a few years later parked in the grass, I stepped out of the trailer into a 5-6 inch river. Even if they can get the race in, the fun level is way down... AND THE OVER ALL AGGRAVATION LEVEL IS WAY UP! Driving through a mud hole here and a mud hole there. And small portions of those mud holes do make it to the lanes, starting line, and down track! It's just my opinion that they should call this week, it could save a lot of blood pressure medication. Reschedule or carry over to next week with a "leave your stuff here free pass" if you're on the property. This event is a big deal to racers...there's plenty of drama and aggravation from a lost round, or car issue, even with beautiful skies. YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO MAXIMIZE YOUR ENJOYMENT...and not sit in the rain IMO
