Sorry, just don't see another new class, especially one that NHRA actually has to police as close as Stock Eliminator and Super Stock, which they'd actually like to get rid of. There's no room, no time, no money, and no personnel. We have already had quotas at a lot of events. Who do you propose gets locked out to make room for the new classes?
No one is "afraid" of anything. What's next? Sealed crate engines?

You do point out one issue, companies stopping paying for many things.
Too many Nationals to pay too many class winners and the old days guys weren't using the products just getting the money. We could talk about not enough true class racing except INDY or Class nationals to warrant paying |

The big 3 would love that ! Ford already has a dedicated sealed factory crate class right now in the NMRA--Coyote Stock. Not sure, but I thought the NMCA was working on a GM LS crate engine class as well. Not sure if it was finalized or not.

All run? No tech? No qualifying? So this is bracket racing disguised as "Showroom Stock"?

Guess you were not at Englishtown LODRS this past weekend as there was no time for anything but serious racing .As for funding - here's the deal for you - you can be like the snowmobile guys and gals as they fund their whole deal themselves - step up and bring your checkbook ! ! !

Jack I respect you vast experience from your early days driving your Chevrolet delivery wagon to your new COPO.I don't think that any of us wiser(not older) gentlemen could have step up to a top of the line race car when we started but many did drive right off the street with their 67,8,9 Camaro into a class that NHRA determined was right for us. All I'm suggesting is a new way to bring new blood and old blood back at a divisional event. Not to take away from the guys and gals who pay their own way to race sleds down the quarter mile but I think that it would better to see new cars going down the quarter mile than something needing snow in the middle of the summer.Sorry that I missed the race since I broke my leg working. my other question for all of you out there is why are there hardly any spectator for such a great show as a divisional event? Is it because of not enough advertising or there's too much competition for the same dollar? thanks
