Thank You Mr. Teuton coming from a U.S National winner is great. I've tried our Divisional rep and have said that it was a good idea but no further response. I will try again. Jack, like many great supporter of class racing such as yourself you do not see people looking up at your operation saying to themselves I can't afford this. I've taken time when going to Divisional & National events and asked many spectator if they would be interested in such class and all said that they would love a chance to participate. It's a bracket race which would be a preparation for maybe moving up? I've to many Divisional races and I have to say that there is a lot of time to run such class.. It 's not like the 72 pure stock class, since no advantage to blueprinting an engine, it's an all run class no index. NHRA wake up. My second beef is why Divisional race can't be more advertise om the radio, free tickets(P.C Richardsdo a great job) Racers you have an obligation to pass on the word to High Schools and Shpping Malls showing something to get people fire up for this great show coming into town.Claude.

Great idea.

Unfortunately, as Jack pointed out above, there are alot of things in the way preventing this from happening with the NHRA.

IHRA might be more receptive, but they have a very limited amount of events and tracks.

If the NMCA was larger and had more events at more tracks throughout the racing season, that would be the organization to approach with the idea.

Ok then please explain time required, I've sat in the stand sometimes for 30 minutes with nothing happening going on. I would be buying a new Challenger,Mustang,Camaro in seconds if NHRA woke up from their sleep. This would be great during S/SS elimination, while everyone is being paired up you could run 30 plus cars. these car do not run through the water and just a simple dry burn out is all that is needed, no crewman to line you. Up clean out the slicks, just line up and race. We haven't seen anything new from NHRa in a thousand years to help the little guy. don't forget it was bracket Racing that has kept drag racing alive. I love Competition eliminator, Super Stock and stock eliminator and I hope that NHRA doesn't drop class racing and replace it with index racing as someone from NHRA was hinting at Indy this year.CR

When the factory began building new COPOs, DPs, and CJs did anyone say then that there were too many classes and too many cars already? I can't remember that response then.

Could be the mfgrs of those cars put up big money to sponsor big races.
If you wanted to put the money up for that, you might pull it off.

Thinking of an entry level is good, but.... Every week end there is a drive in track in your neighborhood with Bracket racing. That's what you are proposing and another Bracket race at Points meets is not needed. Think of ONE car to feature and let everyone enter that class heads up and you might have something. I would pay money to sponsor that race. I already Have...using one class.

When introduced those cars all went into existing classes.

You want a new car bracket race right? . No teardowns , no weights , no indexes, no records, no heads ups... ect .... Just what part is class racing ? ..Its a glorified bracket race ,,,,,

Claude - You're very right as i'm fortunate enough to run an operation like mine - but you're trying to fix something that ain't broke - we can't handle another class let alone one that must be policed .As for the advertising only a race promoter knows how expensive radio really is .

As for people supporting the races - just ask Mr. Beard how ugly it can get - saying it is one thing - showing up is another .
