The way I'm seeing all of this, if they have pure stock with a cam lift check only, that I could take my traditional stocker, put a mech. fuel pump, stock rockers, waterpump and pulleys and run pure stock. To me that's two classes way to much alike and I don't think any sanctioning body would go for it.. Just my 2 cents worth.

KDanner...
My experience has been the number of people who email me with questions.
The number one comment made preventing people from building.
No IHRA tracks nearby but lots of NHRA.
Most of the Pure Stockers are in the east because there are enough IHRA tracks.
The number would easily multiply if NHRA would allow Pure Stock.

As for crate motor classes, most cars are on the East Coast too.
However I do not see anyone from the CM racers willing to take a stand.
Which is sad!
Because these are classes that will also help invigorate Class Racing.

There was a long thread not to long ago about the future of Stock.
Well here are two solutions to help it progress!

Requires liberal doses of asking and persistence.
You want something to improve.
You got to get off your fat *** and do something about it!

Write!!

Peace
Dan

Add Mufflers, Stock Spring Pressure, no fancy Roller rockers or Shubeck lifters, do not need forged Pistons, or fancy rods, no racing gas, mostly no roll bar.
Keep stock seats and seat belts which do not have to be certified.
Keep your ABS system, AC, and can put your street tires on to drive on the street if you keep it licensed.

If you want you can still graduate to full Stock upgrading, testing and so on.
All the while still racing Stock.

It is about getting more racers into the game.

Well that's true of course, people aren't going to build a car they can't race within a reasonable distance. I like numbers, let's look at how many PS participants in each division.

If we call Div 1, 2, and 9 the East, those 3 divisions accounted for:
D1 - 4 in 2014, 3 in 2015
D2 - 4 in 2014, 5 in 2015
D9 - 5 in 2014, 3 in 2015

I see one racer listed in 2 east coast divisions for 2014, 2 for 2015, which makes the total for the entire east coast:
12 racers in 2014, 9 racers in 2015

OK, if that's the hotbed where most PS are, let's check other areas where there are IHRA tracks/races:
D3 - 2 in 2014, 0 in 2015
D4 - 0 in 2014, 1 in 2015
D6 - 0 in 2014, 0 in 2015

I just don't see the numbers, even in places where anyone could run PS right now.

Do no not know where you got the numbers.
I know two Pure Stockers are being built now.
Chris Kilrane just built a H/PS Mustang.
Few other Stocker racers have Pure Stockers as back up cars.

Check out the Pure Stock Photo gallery.
11 Pure Stockers show up at last years AutoMeter Class Nationals.
Pure Stock Drags.com group has ton of them that would fit in Pure Stock.

Getting NHRA to follow along.
IMHO a lot more racers will build a Pure Stocker.

As for the grumpy anti Pure Stock community.
They just have to get past the jealousy !

I used NitroJoe's stats for the year 2014 and for 2015 through May.
