Before the rumors start flying, I would like people to know that my FSS/C car was disqualified in tech today. We spent seven hours tearing the car down and the motor passed with no problem. The car was kicked out because the wheel base was off 3/8th's of an inch.
Embarrassed and Upset, S.Bell

I thought the spec was plus or minus 1/2"? I had better measure mine.
Would have been nice if they had measured that first. Or told you to fix it before tomorrow. Won't make you one bit faster. Sorry Stephen.

I didn't think they even measured, there are some cars that are obvious at just a glace but I suppose if both front and rear were moved and they just measure between them...

8.44 and was he on the brakes too? "only" 157. Need to see that run at Mission.

Big congrats to Bo Butner and Kevin Skinner for an exciting battle in the Factory Stock Showdown. Read more here: http://www.nhra.com/story/2015/9/5/b...howdown-title/

Same goes for Lloyd Wofford who defeated Gus Mantas to win the Mopar Hemi Challenge. Ever wonder if Indy still means something special? Watch a 64-year old man cry tears of pure joy while all of his family, friends and fellow racers offer their congratulations. There's your answer. I got choked up just watching from the sidelines.

What did Tony Cowell get torn down for? A random check maybe? Gee, the only time I see a photo of his car is in the "barn"/tent. I see he won class, seems like there was one other car in GT/IA that was a bit faster in qualifying, but didn't see him opposed in the class eliminations. Good luck to Tony and Steven tomorrow or today if they have already run.

Stock class cars 3/4 of an inch !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! PLUS you are allowed 1 inch variation from factory specs side to side!!!!! Section 9 subsection 5 ---- 2015 NHRA rule book --do not know where 3/8 inch came up---FED 387

If he was 3/8 out of spec, then the car could be 1 1/8 inch longer/shorter than stock. I would like to know the actual wheel base measurement.

3/8 is nit-picking, 1 1/8 isn't.

Man, those inspectors must have good eyes to be able to see a wheelbase is 3/8" off without measuring!

Congrats to fellow Arkansan Lloyd Wofford! A real gentleman and fierce competitor.
