I know of three racers who bought Sunoco fuel from the fuel truck at Indy and the fuel would not pass fuel check. To make matters worse Sunoco would not replace the gas or refund their money. As someone who usually runs Sunoco, this seems like a not very wise move for Sunoco, because it damages their reputation at a time when everyone knows they are having trouble with the comp and pro stock fuel. I think a lot of it comes from using an independent distributor instead of a factory Sunoco truck. I. Hear VP will be back next year as an option.

How about those fuel DQs in round 1 of Stock class? Any identity on that fuel?

Regardless of the brand, if it is sold at the track by an approved vendor, it should pass or it should be accepted. Check it on the truck before anyone buys it to make sure it passes.

Mike, I know for a fact that one of the dq's was first round of class, and it cost a racer the win.

I hate to have to haul fuel in the trailer, but when they won't allow VP to sell fuel at the track, I have no choice. I wasted time and money testing with that crap. I will not use it.

There must be more to this.
NHRA tests fuel for sale at every national event and records data for review. That is what I was told when a fuel I was using for a couple of seasons was removed last winter because it was inconsistent from event to event.

Maybe I'm biased because we have to run that liquid dog **** in the Comp cars but Sunoco is junk. I don't care if it's cheaper, you get what you pay for. We always make more power on the dyno with VP over the Sunoco and l have never had an issue at fuel check with it. You will never see anything but VP in my Stocker.
