It irritates me that there is no reason to put the combo in a position for hp. It's like a comp guy bombing the index on a redlight!!!! I have worked my *** off for the last five years to make my car fast. IT doesn't matter if it's 2 pounds or 200 pounds. It's the principal. It was most likely the convertible that did it. Heres the deal do the math. My car in M 13.15 index min 3040, his car in P 13.65 index 3280 min. 5 tenths for 240 pounds! Hello he doesn't have to make within 25 hp of me to hit the index. That is just irritating. There are plenty of F and G injected stick cars out there moving over. It just puts me at a little more of a disadvantage. That is why I am upset. If you own one of these combos and you did it, good job DONKEY if not stay out of it!! If you want to debate call me i'll be more than glad to talk!!!!

[QUOTE=Gary Summers;50637]I would like to give you some information on my 85 Mustang Convertible. First, I am not a donkey, I am a die hard Ford racer. I stopped racing in 1974 and my 65 Mustang Convertible held many records with NHRA and IHRA. I didn't race for 30 years and decided to race again about 5 years ago. I bought a 63 Ranchero and started racing full time in Super Street and Super Gas. I finished in third place in Division 3 in 2006 and sixth place in 2007 in Super Street. I always wanted to go back to Stock so I bought my 85 Mustang and built it myself from the ground up. It took a year to build it and my main goal was to be legal and safe, contrary to some beliefs. During the last 14 months, the car has been torn down seven times in Divisions 2,3 and 4 and passed technical inspection (by the way, no "juice" was found!!). Drag Racing is my hobby and I travel many miles each year to enjoy this hobby. I strive to have the fastest car just as many other racers. I build all of my motors and do all of my research and development. If my car sets National Records, then I have accomplished my goal.
To the person that believes I am no longer in P Stock, I will probably run P Stock in Gainesville at the Gatornationals, but sometimes I change my mind at the last minute. The weight for my car in P Stock is 3450 pounds, O Stock is 3245 pounds, and N Stock is 3140 pounds. The Mustang has ran in the 40's in P Stock, teens in O Stock and 90's in N Stock, all in bad air. And I will continue to try to do better, that's part of drag racing!!!
I thank Jim Gower for sticking up for me. He has been racing as long as me and knows that I play by the rules and that I LOVE to go fast!! I actually thought that all Ford lovers stuck together but I guess I was mistaken.
There was one guy that wanted to talk to me so here is my number: 270-392-0641.
